Something I want to record

Some half-a-dozen years ago I read Alex Garland's 'The Beach' (yesyes).  From that book I wrote down a thought that I liked, on a piece of paper. Today I spotted it again while cleaning up my room. And I still like the thought.

If you accept that the universe is infinite, then it means that there's an infinite amount of chances for things to happen. If there's an infinite amount of chances for something to happen, then eventually it will happen - no matter how small the likelihood.
