Before long, my mom, who was the one to pick these, will be here in Shanghai. Amazing.. it will also make it complete - my whole family will have been to China. Expanding the cultural and life experience, which will never be forgotten.

If where you grew up allow you to pick up mushrooms, I hardly think Shanghai is the place for you.
mmmm mushrooms sauteed in butter....I can smell it from here already. Some cheese, onions, garlic and a hint of port. What the heck throw in a porter house steak and potatoes....

hehe estonian mushrooms for a gourmet dinner in shanghai may be a reality not too far ahead. in any case, marcus, now you made me absolutely miss home.. : ) when are you coming by shanghai?

i am glad that the university of life has provided me some courses to tell the difference between the mushrooms.. at least those ones found around where i am from!
Did you say you served mushrooms as well the past Friday? I'm now kicking myself for having missed it - I love mushrooms!
